Celebrate Mom at Keys Café This Mother’s Day

Celebrate Mom at Keys Café This Mother’s Day

Mothers are the heart and soul of Keys Cafe. At our family-run business, moms aren’t just a part of the story—they’re the driving force that keeps everything running smoothly. This Mother’s Day, give mom a much-deserved break and bring her—and the kids—to celebrate with us. Our menu may delight your taste buds, but it’s the stories of hard work and love behind the scenes that truly make our cafe special.

Barbara Hunn, the Matriarch of the Keys family instilled a dedication to guest satisfaction that has been prevalent throughout the entirety of the Keys Cafe family. Frankie, Barbara’s granddaughter, remembers a memory that represents the pride she holds for being a part of the Keys Family. “One memory that always sticks with me is when a customer ordered a chicken salad sandwich, and the kitchen was out of chicken salad. Without hesitation, Grandma Barb rolled up her sleeves and insisted on making it fresh right then and there. Her dedication to making every guest feel valued is something I’ve always admired. She taught our family that taking care of people isn’t just good business, it’s what makes Keys feel like home.”

But the hospitality at Keys endured even through the challenges of the restaurant business and service industry during the pandemic. Takeout orders were the only means of keeping the restaurants open. Family members along with a reduced staff worked side by side during this very challenging time for the Keys locations.

Frankie and her mom, Jean, spent countless hours together in Roseville. But on a whim, they decided to deep clean the entire restaurant together after they closed it up for the night. “It was hard work, but it was also a bonding moment I’ll never forget. Even though times were tough, that day reminded me of how much I love this family business and of how strong my mom is,” recalls Frankie.

Moms, grandmothers, and mother figures like Barbara, Jean, Frankie, a mother herself, and all the “keys moms” are the backbone of families—not to mention the backbone of Keys Café. That’s why there’s no better way to celebrate Mother’s Day than by bringing mom to experience the warm, welcoming tradition of Keys. Brought to you by Mothers themselves.

Whether you’re stopping by for brunch or picking up a treat for take-home, know that Keys Café honors moms everywhere—the dedication, the grit, and the love that makes every family unique.

Join us this Mother’s Day to celebrate the incredible moms in your life. Because if there’s anyone who deserves a break, it’s her.
